Close to pulling the trigger on one or the other. I want black so that is a consideration. From what I can tell the vintage pin drive come in black but not the FFR’s. Pin drives seem cool but never had any and don’t want to regret it. Pros and cons? Also clearance considerations for 17s or 18s on MKIV ffr frame?

FFR doesn't offer pin drives in black or otherwise. To use actual pin drives the suspension has to be configured for it; i.e. spindles and control arms in front and rear end width with a straight axle. Components are not offered to set the current IRS to the proper pin drive width. Has the car been built to accommodate pin drive or will you be converting it?

Yes, the pin drive adapters bolt on but the added thickness pushes the wheel and tire out farther which if the suspension is set up for standard width often results in conflict with the body unless narrower rims and tires are used

The wheels that you currently have are FR500 repops, not a FF wheel.
