Please post pictures of FFR roadster and all others including original and continuation cars, I read posts all the time saying what is this? or how is it different, Front, unique back, longer wheel base etc.

Here is a list of the differences between a FF and an Original Cobra. Some, like the taller, thicker roll bar are perfectly understandable given FF's emphasis on racing. Some, like the back end being pulled up several inches are incomprehensible.

Everyone has to decide for themselves whether these things are important to them. Some want to duplicate the original cars, some just want a hot "Street Rod" type of car and accuracy to the original isn't that important to them.

The rear quickjack mounts and rear end of body need to be lowered 3”.

The rear fenders should be wider at the bottom behind the wheels.

The “point” should be removed from trunk lid.

The lower part of the front end under the oil cooler scoop should extend back several inches farther.

The roll bar should be shortened several inches & smaller diameter.

The roll bar legs should be exposed behind the driver’s seat.

The hood scoop should be riveted on.

The cockpit edges should be rolled.

There should not be little "pads" under the front turn signal lights.

The brake and clutch pedals should be floor-mounted.

There should be two small frame tubes that run from the center console up to the bottom of the dash.

The trunk hinges should be concealed.

There should not be visible mounting bolts on the body sides.

I think the angle of the Dash is also incorrect but I haven't had a chance to measure to make sure.

yup. They nailed it. I'm REALLY curious to see what it would take to make the Hurricane body fit the FFR frame.

I saw that double post for a second Todd. You know what was weird? "Hurricane" was spelled correctly in the second one!

IMO Backdraft is waaaay off. Lots of weirdness on the back end of those along with the stretched cockpit. Nice cars though.

Kevin's post covered most of it, although I don't really care about where the pedals are attached. He's also correct in that the dash position on FFRs is wrong. It needs to be angled differently and moved back both to look correct and get rid of the windshield glare problem.

Trevor's post about an FFR with pin drive offset HBs and 15" tires has some validity I think. Like Todd says it doesn't fix every problem (like the skinny rear fenders) but if you've ever seen a picture of an ERA with 17s you'll know what I mean. A lot of 'the look' has to do with a deep dish rims and fat tires.

My point in requesting the pictures was to get everyones feel for what they like and dislike, the subtle differences and to get another oppertunity to compare these beautiful cars. I never bored looking at these cars, no matter what builder, original or replica. How about some front and back shots, interior shots. The trunk inside of the original is lower and fits a spare, why are the replica's different? who has the best trunk pics? Spare pics or flat tire stories. Thanks for the input, the overlay was interesting, and great pics, keep it up.

Mounting a Hurricane body on an FFR frame might be possible but would be hard to do. The track on the Hurricane is the original 56" and the body is designed for that width. I'm not sure of the exact FFR measurment but I do know it's wider. I do think it could be done though.

Also, that's Burgs' Hurricane in the photo and is an early model. The later chassis numbers have bodies that are even more accurate with slight changes made over the run.

I think this is the most noticable FFR difference (other than the thick roll bar). THe steep rear hip line, you can see it best in the 3/4 view.

YES!!! and all of what KevinM mentioned as well as the roll bar angle. Don't get me wrong, I love my car and have over 41,000 miles on her (100 miles yesterday while freezing my a$$ off :D ) but these things still bother me everytime I look at the car.

I suppose I'm one of the few that likes the 'perky butt' on the FFR. I think it gives the car more of a crouching/ready-to-pounce stance, especially from the rear and 3/4 views. The original and SPF rear fenders do seem to work very well with gigantic rear tires, though. I like FFRs and SPFs the most. Most of the originals don't look as good to me. That rear wheel being about 3 inches off-center in the wheel well would drive me nuts.

I see a bunch of great bodies in a variety of colors, some perky butts, some variations in angles and curves....

...but ALL beautiful :D

We take ourselves WAY too seriously. Take the names off the photos and then try to identify which is which - they are all Cobras!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to track down the different pics. I have never really looked at the difference. though suttle, there is still a difference.

If I remember correctly, this car is an orignal CSX car, used for AutoX. NOT a SPF

If I search enough I'm sure I'll find the number

Edited:
Yes CSX 3170 it is

Yes , I just edited my post

It is CSX 3170 and he drives it often at Auto X events, and other Cobra outings.

Ron will know more (as always :D )

And lastly a bundle of pics here:

And for Dugget there are close ups of the bumper, I would guess he made that to avoid killing cones during autoX
