Is there an auto paint color database?

I'm trying to pick a color so if I see a car on the road with a nice color, I go to the manufacturers website and see what it is. Problem is, I can only do that for 2008 model year cars. Anybody know if there is an online database of all colors for all cars?

not that i know of. ive gone to dealerships and gotten old paint code samples from past years they have lying around.

I have used this one with some success. Not sure it is always 100% but you can verify even the older colors with the dealer. HTH
