Over the weekend I waxed my daily driven car and I spilled a little wax on black plastic trims. Now I have ugly gray marks on trims. How to remove them? I went to local auto parts store and bought "Back to Black for plastic trims" from Mothers but this didn't work. Also I tried "Go Gone", didn't work. What to use?

1) Mask off the paintwork next to the trim to prevent scuffs.
2) Using Denatured alcohol and a stiff nailbrush, get the brush wet and scrub the plastic trim, working the bristles into the plastic.
3) Wipe off the resudue and let everything dry out.
4) Repeat as needed
5) Apply 'back to black' on the trim
6) Mask the plastic trim and re-apply wax on the body.

Done.

I heard about this and din't believe it until I tried it. Put some plain peanut butter on the black surface for an hour or so than wash off with mild soap. Something to do with enzymes in the peanuts and the peanut oil - son-of-a-gun, it worked for me!

You could try JOY brand dish detergent I was told that it will strip car wax right off. could'nt hurt.
