What's involved in installing the FF Metal battery box trunk relocation kit in a completed MKII ? What if any special tools will I need? What little "tricks" for the install have anyone found/used. Any help would be appreciated!

Tools I needed:
Hand riveter (confined space inside the box)
Rt. angle drill (also due to confined space)
Saber saw - to cut out opening in sheet metal as well as the center 3/4" square tube.
I am using a red top Optima and it barely fits - had to remove some of the front and back rivets to slide it in. The bottom of the box barely clears the angled brace for the panhard bar when installed in the specified location.
I lined the bottom of the box with a 1/8" sheet of rubber (don't think it came with the box.) I just slid the back edge of the cover under the rear trunk pan and used the front 2 screws to hold it on.
Its pretty easy to put in. There is one brace that you cut out of the frame, some guys reweld it to the left or right of the battery box, but my thought is that the box itself is probably a suitable replacement for the brace.
I love mine. It's definitely on the list of good build decisions. My Optima red top fits with no problem.
The directions weren't very clear to me. The bottom portion of the trunk needs to mount ON TOP of the upper/forward portion of the trunk floor. Part of the lid will slide under the 1/4" overlap and secure the box lid. Screwes hold down the other end.
Thanks guys a really appreciate the info ...ordered the box from FFmetal and with your insight the install will be much easier (I'll measure THREE times!!!)

I used a 1/2" spade drill bit (for wood) to drill holes to create the corner radius (radii?) of the large hole in the aluminum trunk floor. Then used a jig saw to cut straight lines to the tangents of the 1/2" holes.
I'm mid-way through reading this post and the doorbell rings, it's UPS with my FFmetal battery box and passenger foot box... weird. Anyhow I know what I'll be doing tonight or tomorrow night so if you want any pics of the install let me know.
Got my box in and it looks great .....BTW Optima Red tops (type 34, 800 CCA, top post only) can be had at Amazon.com for $137.00 with free shipping!! If you click "Super Saver" (free) as the shipping method you will see some blurb about 7 to 9 days for shipping + 3-5 days for porsessing. I ordered mine on Friday and got it yesterday, the following Wednesday in a Super strong cardboard shipping box.
