Another 2 cents here - I have a ground cable going from the back of one of my heads to a stud welded onto the frame - it's a 2 gauge battery cable. I also have a ground cable going from a starter bolt to another stud on the frame right beside the starter. It's about 6" long. There's also have a 2 gauge battery cable going from that stud directly to the battery in the trunk. You can never have too many ground wires as a lot of electrical problems are a result of poor grounds.
