Thank You Edward.

I am one of the Stealth Five, living in Maine. I will pick up my car at the end of September. Your past builds have provided a wealth of information. You being the first to start the Anniversary Model will be the guiding light for those of us several months behind you.
Needless to say, I will benefit immensely from your experience as you install the new IRS.
Just completed a copy of your chassis dolly and body buck. Wish I could install the two post lift you have, but the radiant floor heat I have in my garage nixed that idea.
Are all the panels forward of the dash powder coated? Any down side of just having ALL the panels PC? Seems to me that a slight radiusing of the panel edges would be smart prior to PC. Your thoughts.

The build looks great Paul.

How much dash cowl did you end up trimming?

And do you think 3M Dual Lock would be suitable for mounting a dash?

John
John, I tried my best to use the 3M super Velcro on the dash. I used four 1 1/2 inch pieces across the dash, but could not get self stick Velcro backing to stay stuck to the 3/4 inch frame.
My dash is the new composite dash that was shipped with the 20th Anniversary kits. It also incorporates a center section brace down to the tunnel top. In the end, I just bit the bullet and used three screws.
Also went ahead and used screws on the finishline door panels.
Will be interesting to see how Edwardb fares using the Velcro on the door panels.

This is what Jeff was referring to. Trimmed in the general area marked. If left too long, when the rounded end is formed it will interfere with the underside of the body.

I trimmed it some before I covered it, but not enough. Note: Don't look too closely at this picture. It's from my last build, but the one that was best to mark and illustrate.
That also answers the question I have been pondering about the new FFR composite dash. It has right angle tabs on both sides. These clearly need to be removed and the ends of the dash trimmed as you have illustrated. thanks for clearing this up for me.

Windshield frame cut offs.

Just ready to install the windshield. Managed to get the frame pieces and windshield integrated without damaging the threads.

Next step is to cut off the excess frame material on the ends. Given there are some variables, isn't there a number that most if not all builders end up using?

Hi Edward,
Love your work!
I'm currently installing the same rear brake setup as you, however I'm having trouble with the ebrake cable fitting the wilwood ebrake calliper. There seems to be a 0.5mm variation in diameter between the calliper mount hole and the ebrake shroud. Is this meant to be a press fit?

I have the same E-brake assembly and had the same concern. I now have 500 miles on the car, and no issues have been encountered. The system works well, with just one click of the handle to set the brakes.

2-1/2 days into paint and I've been getting a steady stream of update pics. Here are just a few of them. Making nice progress. Parting lines are all ground down, filled, and rough sanded. Body matching and filling is underway. Doors, trunk, and hood filled and rough sanded. Including the dreaded DS door. Shop is shut down until next Tuesday for Christmas, but feeling really good about how things are going. Tomorrow I'm mailing my Detroit Autorama application. Show is end of February, and looks favorable to be ready in time. Merry Christmas everyone!

Hey Paul, Great eye candy of the paint preparation process. Metalmorphous shot the deep impact blue base coat on my car yesterday. Can hardly contain my excitement. Looks like we will be finishing up our cars about the same time.

Door sill installation.

The build is looking oh so good, Paul. We are running neck and neck toward completion.

I have a question related to your door sill plates and edging. First, did you do any kind of sealing where the sill metal meets the body edge? Sending my sill carpets pieces out for edge binding on Monday and was wondering what size of edging did you use? In all your builds, did you ever think up a metal edge design that would protect the carpet edge, similar to what the carpet binding does?

Looking at a monster snow storm brewing right now, that is expected to dump over 18 inches of white stuff on us. It is fun stuff as long as you embrace it, and not fight it.
