I'm looking at building an old school, carbureted cobra that is powerful and reliable. I've read a lot about big block vs. small block, Windsor vs. Cleveland, 302 vs.351, but I have not read much about short stroke vs. long stroke. I'm curious what the thoughts (and opinions) are on stroke. Given the same amount of cubic inches, what are the advantages of a shorter stroke compared to a long stroke (and vise versa). Which engine will last longer, cheaper to build, more reliable and provide more fuel economy, hp, torque, etc.
I'd like to thank everyone who participates in this forum, especially the experienced builders who have patiently answered the reoccurring questions from those who are still a little reserved about taking on such a project. This forum has raised my confidence and moved me closer to the plunge.
