Ranger Heater Valve - Plumbing?

I have purchased a Ranger Heater Valve to control the flow of coolant to the Vintage Heater for my 4.6 sohc. Just wondering if it matters which way the valve is installed or can I just connect the two outlets on one side of the valve to the heater hoses and the two hoses from the engine to the other side of the valve. Here is picture of the valve:

Hi, Wade. I think it does matter which way it is installed. I can't remember, it's been a while since I put mine in. I think I just blew through it to figure out which way was right, both open and closed.
