Hey guys. After my second shoulder surgery I am seriously thinking about adding power steering to my MKII. Anyone have parts or advice I would greatly appreciate. Not looking for free stuff, just need the parts to make it work. Thanks, Ken

Not a Roadster, but last year I added power steering to my Gen I Type 65 Coupe. It was actually rather easy -- I picked up most of the stuff from LMR (Late Model Restorations) that specializes in the Ford name. They actually have a pump kit that includes the mounting bracket and hose. I had an advantage in that I had originally built the car with the P/S rack & pinion, so it was just a matter of hooking up the hoses, although I did have to go to another source for the steel lines that I had discarded when I built the car. As I recall, I also had to buy the return line separately and I added an aftermarket cooler at a small cost. It works fine and I am delighted that I did it. The total cost came to $635. I'll add that the people at LMR were very helpful and quick to respond to questions.
In addition to the P/S pump kit (#LRS3674KA), you may need the A/C Delete Kit (LRS-8511A). Those are the two biggest numbers, unless you need a rack & pinion.
I have some of the kit supplied PS pieces, pump for sure but not the rack.
I'll collect parts and we can work out the grim and gory details. Someone on another forum just helped me with the request that I do the same. Pay it forward.
Hey guys thanks for all the responses. I have all the parts and am stripping the manual steering from the car now.
