I think 3 quarts should do it. You are using the GM Syncromesh, right? First time I've ever been in a GM dealership was to buy my Synchromesh (not sure exact spelling)...

Agree, 3 qts of GM synchromesh is correct. That's what Mike Forte told me to do when I got my 3550 from him.

never been able to get 3 qts in ... always seems like 2.5 +/- ... filled through the shifter w/ the fill plug out till it runs out ... pat

 

I think the rated capacity is 2.75 quarts. I remember mine took almost 3 before some started running out of the fill hole.

 

At $12/quart, be thankful it's JUST 3 quarts.:001_huh:
