...... while Vipers were/are built for speed & comfort. ......HTH

Sorry to take your statement somewhat out of context, but I found that comment really amusing. I would rate the 1st gen Viper in the top 2 or 3 most uncomfortable production cars I have ever been in. I'm long legged but only 6'3", and I could not believe how awkward it was for my legs to try to drive the car. Knees hard into dash, pedals not where my feet wanted to be. I was happy to have limited seat time.

My Mark 1 IRS car is more comfortable for me (granted I did spend a little thought setting up the seat/pedal/steering to fit me), and I think the ride and handling is no more objectionable than a 1st gen Viper. That said, there are many times where moderate weather protection and the very basics of creature comforts would be nice.

Edit- just noticed the original question was about a 2004- my comments may not apply at all.

It seems that the Viper is simply a more modern iteration of the FFR retaining some growl/bite,while at the same time providing a few amenities. Just my worthless opinion. John
If that's your expectation, I think you'll be pleased. Not a bad description.
