Classic Gauges w/ Mass Flo

In the Mass Flo instruction is show to connect the green wire to the tach signal. This green wire goes to the negative side of the coil.

In the drawing of the Classic Gauges it shows the yello wire going to the signal on the tach and the red wire going to the negative side of the coil.

Can I just hook the green wire from the Mass Flo to the red wire out of the tach filter?

Look on the back of the tach for the terminal that says "SIG" or "S" or it might be terminal #3 (large tach). The signal terminal is where you connect your wire from the negative side of the coil.

What drawings are you speaking of? The Classic gauges usually use a white wire for signal, not a yellow. Is this the Cobra "Smiths" gauge kit and where did you get it from? Did it come with a pre-made harness? Are the gauges already wired on the back to a plug?

The gauges where purchased from Whitby's. The instructions were included in the gauges. the drawing shows the tach filter with a yellow-tach signal, Red-negative coil, Black-engine ground.

Mass Flo say connect the green wire to the tach signal, this is the wire that goes to the negative side of the coil.

I have the exact same gauges.
I'm not exactly sure, since its been a while, but I think I did it exatly the way you're describing it.
Just put the tach filter 'in-line'.
Doesn't it say anywhere that the tach ground should be seperate and on the engine block?

Good luck.

Yea it says the tach ground needs to be as close to the distributor as possible.

The main question is do I just take the red wire going to the coil and splice in the green wire from the Mass Flo that says to hook to the tach signal?

The black ground on the engine block.
The red and green together and the yellow one to the signal port of the gauge.

That should work.
The filter is used to reduce the frequency band of the signal coming from the coil and to stabilise the tach.

You didn't say anything about a tach filter...

Full details help get a correct answer...
