Rob, When I made that statement it was directed to engines that see a lot of hard driving as in a lot of time on the track. I feel the 408 is a better engine if you plan on beating on it a lot. The 427 is a very good, powerful street engine. I would be a little concerned about the lower engine under hard core conditions.
