Does anyone know if newer mustangs will be supported by FFR in the future? I won't be able to start my build for several years but have been looking for a drivable donor. I'm finding that they are becoming rarer than they were when FFR started. While there would be some re-engineering, I would think it would certainly be less than the initial work. Can anyone provide some insight?

Thanks,
Clint

In speaking to Dave Riha from FFR when I was at Septemberfest, yes they will *eventually* support the newer 4.6 mustangs. With some work, you can do it now yourself though.

They will be supported in the future, there is no timeline. If you're interested in doing it yourself anyways, Ed Hubbard (I think) is putting a 4.6 DOHC in the FFR he's building now. He could give you a real good idea what it takes.

Dave Riha is testing some of the 4.6 modifications in his car (he is running a 302 though). One of the primary issues is simply the size of the 4.6 motor. It is much larger than the 302. So, for example in Dave's car, the steering shaft has been moved further outboard to create more space for the engine.
