Hi Convincor thanks, I have a solid axle and even the IRS cars still have some rubbing. I've put the body back on and sized things up and at 5" ride height I'll have very little travel before it rubs. I think that will drive me nuts. By the way, I'm using the firestones. I liked the way yours looked, thanks.
Brian, I have narrowed 8.8 and vintage pin drive wheels. The vinage wheels are a little narrower and clear the braket, they will rub on the fenders only. I like your tires and rims, they do look cool don't they?
i've got a rub mark on either side just on the angled part of the rear wall.
When doing my koni upgrade, I cycled the suspension to check shock clearance and was surprised to find that the upper control arm hit the frame before the tires rubbed. At full compression I was still able to rotate the tire. I was tight, but no rub.
Here's a pic looking up at it. This is the area where there is a mark. No rubbing on the body at all.
jbwthree, those kind of look like "original" wheel wells don't they?
Convincor, My rear wall looks about like yours for clearance. It's not touching, but close. I wish I had the additional upper fender clearance from the camber increase of the IRS on compression.
