I'm getting ready to run a fused continous hot wire from the battery sido of my cut-off switch to the computer so the computer doesn't reset everytime switch is open . I need to know which wire (color / #) is the hot lead for computer? Since I will be running this as an additional circuit in parallel with the existing power circuit, I will have to put a diode at the junction to keep from back feeding power to the solenoid terminal...

Circuit 37
Pin number 1
16 ga
Yellow wire

Another soulution to this problem is a 5 amp circuit breaker or fuse across the battery disconnect switch. The fuse will allow enough power for the computer memory, but will trip if you try to start the car. Engineer Ed has a line on a automatic reset fuse link that works nicely.

On the 89 and 90 harness you can tap into the black/orange wire that goes to the computer "after" the EEC relay and run that to your fused battery circuit. This will keep the computer hot all the time and the relay will work when the main power to the solenoid is back on because it runs off a "blue" fuseable link.

I used a separte wire from the hot side of my master switch to the fuse panel (non used circuit) with a 5amp fuse and then to the computer Pin 1 after the EEC relay.
