Which end of the IRS axle shaft goes inward and which end outward..one end is less that 6 inches and the other end is greater than 6 inches...thanks...later...
One end will have splines and goes into the dif, the other has threads and goes into the spindle. I'm thinking this is what you are asking. The FFR shafts are the same on each end and they go in the middle.

my FFR shafts were not symmetrical. someone at the time knew which way they went and i did it that way. the CV joint clamps end up positioned better if they are the correct way.

I just did mine 2 days ago and I made a point of checking when I took apart the original.
The manual say's there's no difference but the is.
