If you mounted your MSD 6A or 6AL ignition box on the passenger side behind the dash, Where did you mount the coil? The wires from the box aren't long enough to let you mount it on the inside of the "F" panel, and if you mount it close to the box, the coil wire is half a mile long? Just trolling for preferences here...thanks..

I put mine on the cylinder head with the MSD bracket. It looks really really good there, like it belongs.

This is the Ford coil mount, but I think Summit sells one like it for MSD.

It bolts to the front of the left side head, and keeps the coil wire to distributor real short.

I'm using the MSD "Blaster" coil, and the mounting instructions say "not near a direct heat source". So, strapping it to the head isn't a problem? .....thanks...

Lots of old cars had the coils right on the motor. We will see if it is a problem. I like the fact that the coil wire is only about 8 inches long too when it is on the head.

The 60's fords I had had the coil mounted on the engine, with that bracket. (Not chromed of course)

I have the Blaster3. I mounted it on the driver side f-panel. FMS 9mm coil wire reaches fine. I did have to extend the wires from the 6AL, though. I ran them behind the dash and out with the harness going to the front that comes out of the driver footbox.
