I have completely covered the underside of the body with truck liner material. It was not that bad and went on quite easy.. Can't say it came off the dog all that well! (don't ask...)

I put the body back on the car and have this question..? The wheel wells look so good in the aspect that you see the f-panels and the alum in the back but at the same time would this look better balcked out?

For those preping the wheel wells are you doing only the glass body material or are you painting out all surface area of the wheel well? Any pics?

thanks

Can't find any pics right now, but I also like the "blacked out" look.

Pep Boys sells Dupli Color truck bed coating. The first store I went to only had it in the quart size to brush or roll on. I put this down on the inside of the body and it really looked good. Then I went to another Pep Boys and found out they also sell it by the spray can. So I ended up spraying the aluminum in the rear wheel wells, the elephant ear part of the front splash guards, and the front nose aluminum which surrounds the radiator. Turned out nice. On the aluminum it gives it a textured looking surface.

When using the spray on liner on the aluminum you need to prep it somehow. I used the same stuff on the underside of my footboxes and large pieces of it have since flaked off. I cleaned the aluminum with acetone in preparation but that did not do the trick.

Remember,
The CSX cars were all painted black in the wheel well area, so it adds to the touch and look for that area to be black. Wipe the ally down with the etching solution you find for aircraft painting, will not flake then.
