I got a call from Martin this morning to say that he would be here between 2 and 2:30 (he overslept a bit). Come 2:30, I had a big ole truck out front. I was a little slow with the camera work so I didn't get any "approach" pictures, but I snapped a few while we were unloading (he didn't have a wife so it was just me and him).

Here's the garage before:

Here's a lonely set of jackstands:

Here's what it used to look like from outside:

Here is it with the first stack of boxes:

And some more boxes:

And the last set:

Home at last....

Here we are all packed up:

I took some digital video but I bought the camera just for this project and I don't know how to edit it yet. As soon as I do, I'll post that as well.

Time to go mark some panels!

Herman,

I've always been a really efficient packer (no comments from the peanut gallery
) but it took me all weekend to get "that organized". Give me a month and take a look at my pictures then.

Those cabinets actually came from a kitchen remodel. The water pipe on the back of the fridge broke and flooded the house. The bottom cabinets got all damaged but the upper cabinets were fine. The insurance replaced all of the cabinets and let me keep the uppers. So, my workbench and cabinets aren't all that deep, but I built a sliding workbench extender into the bench so I can get a full sheet of plywood up there. And, I thought they would actually be too high to comfortably work at, but they have been perfect. When you build a workbench, always build it 6" higher than you think you need. Words of wisdom for the day.

Alan, good luck on your delivery!

Thanks for all the comments. Now let me get to work! :D

Congrats Kevin,

Now get back out in the garage and don't come back to the computer till you get stuck!

I just got mine 3 weeks ago and Martin delivered mine as well. Kind of neat to see the same truck in Fl as was in my cold neighborhood (mn). Man that guy gets around! Also cool to see your boxes and knowing whats in some of them! (dash is in the thin tall white one)

Enjoy!

I just typed a full reply and this freakin computer lost it!

Suffice it to say, Martin is a great guy, you're right about the box, and I've got a slew of Backordered parts including the front IFS brackets, the rear halfshafts, and parts for all 4 shocks. If I didn't have all of the necessary pieces from vendors, I wouldn't even be able to do the suspension yet.

Craig, luckily there is no wife to speak of or else this may have been a problem:

or this:

or my creative use of the spare bedroom (yeah, that's my cow! So what?
):

and this is about as much use as the treadmill has gotten in a long time (which you'll understand the first time I catch myself in a build pic.
):

Chris, I haven't found someone to come over and help remove the body yet so I'm limited to what I can do. So far, I've got the panels marked on both sides, the 2x4 brace in place, and I've inventoried the IRS components. As soon as I remove the body, I can mount the IRS stuff. I've also got the front stuff so I can do all of that. Once I receive my rear brakes and shocks next week, I'm ready to be a roller!

Wow that is great. I wish I had all my stuff in the house. My wife has all of her scrapbook crap all over the house. How would she feel if I had a set of heads on the coffee table? LOL
