I retroed mine in 02. It took a couple hours to remove the tank, rear axle, battery and everything else in the way. Then I scratched and repainted every part of the frame I could get to, two coats 6 hours.
Then the fun part of bolting in the powdercoated cage. Double Triple measuring and remeasuring the next day. A little edge grinding, the welds and the touch up paint. It was kinda fun building the car again and getting rid of the 4 link that bit me too many times.
Rerouting the the fuel and brake lines, wiring and brackets took some thought. 2-3 hours to make it nice and bullet proof. I spent a couple weeks doing the retro fit.
