You need to contact Dave Borden. He has all the details, pictures, and instructions. Or, do a search.

Basically, it requires cutting off a portion of the 2x3 that the rear cockpit aluminum mates to, relocating some of the 3/4 tubing that the inner fenderwells attach to and some of the cockpit corner braces. You will have to remove the spring tubes completely as well.

Good luck

Can you tell us the width and backspace of the wheels you have your 275/50's on? Also the axles you are using, Fox or SN95. I'm compiling data for a wheel/tire FAQ.

why yes, they are axles out of a ranger and stock 17 x 8 bullit wheels with all the crap trimmed out of the way. The tire 27.3 tall, 10.7 wide , : :D a BFG G-Force KDWS, fills out the wheel well really nice. :D

NO the tire is not too wide for the wheel, it looks awsome and this is the combo. Spent alot of time figuring this out, mounted up 5 wheels, this is the fit. I will try to get better pics, the weather is crappy here, so you can see the fit better, they do not hang over the wheel lip..

Just to make it clear for others...You guys are talking about two different things Cobra 9269's combination of wheels/tires will fit with NO mods... As the title states 315 mods... you MUST modify the frame to fit 315's....

I think what Cobra9268 is suggesting is that there are viable alternatives to 315's and the attendant heartache. His 275-50/17's are one, and my 285-40/18's (27.1" tall) are another. And thanks for the info, Cobra9268.

Happy motoring.

Quick Q,

Maybe this is a dumb question but.

Why modify the chassis to handle the extra width inward rather than using a different offset rim, and flaring the rear fenders outward??
The extra width may make the make the car look even more imposing! heh

JackT,

Arent you building a legal spec car? 315's are obviously not legal in the class

Rob, thanks for posting the links... keep in mind the pic you posted is BEFORE the clearancing.

Why modify the chassis to handle the extra width inward rather than using a different offset rim, and flaring the rear fenders outward??
If your interested in balanced handling.. the car probably does not need more rear track.
