Go to Home Depot and get a can of Jasco brand paint stripper, gloves, and a cheap natural brisle brush. Put it on wait 5 min, scrape with a puddy knife, wipe with paper towels then rinse in a garage sink. DO NOT get this stuff on you (wear goggles). It takes about 1/2 second to start burning your skin. Any small bits of paint (corners) that does not come off can be sand blasted or recoated. Blasting takes quite a while if the paint is in good shape.

You can get them to look like this (after stripping and bead blasting):

Go to your local hardware store and regular paint stripper, the pasty kind. Brush it on and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes then use a green scrubber pad and water to wash it off. You will probably have to do this a couple of times. Be sure to use rubber gloves as this stuff will take your skin off. Make sure you wash it all off the covers.

O.K. i will ask. Why do you want to strip them? I bought the polished ones. I ended up painting them crinkle black. the polished one looked like crap in a very short amount of time. they are near impossible to keep polished while mounted in the car. Something to think about.
