All,
I've been playing around in my posting about my purchases pissing off my wife, well I went too far. After 10 years of marrage we are getting a divorce. It wasn't the cobra and things were poor when I started the build in December. At the time I knew things were tough but decided this is one thing I want and no matter the outcome of my marrage.... I wanted to start a build. I'm glad I did, it would have been a disappointment to me to put my life on hold for the sake of "what if", now I can look back and know it was good to make progress on something I wanted.

Looking forward my outlook is clear and promising. Where I would make my purchases based on budget and not wanting to be too self centered and greedy, now it's all me. I can't wait to convert my garage to a paint booth, purchase a turbo or add a hardtop. It's simple when the only thing you have to worry about is what do you want. I never imagined being single driving my cobra, but since it's a reality I'm moved to looking forward to it.

Single with a cobra.

Sorry to hear that Mike. I've always been a proponent of family first. but, when it's time to cut the cord then get it over with. remember we are in prime time driving from now until next May.

Sorry to hear about your breakup Mike. I hope you will find someone someday that you really belong with.

My wife and I had a talk today about a comment a friend of hers made. They were here to help with the off loading of my kit and she told her boyfriend he couldn't buy my race car. I thought it was odd. They haven't even been going together that long. What really gets me is women that try to tell their SO that they can't do something like that. I've been lucky enough to have a wife who supports my decisions and participates. She's been a part time mechanic, full time pit crew chief and now, assistant Cobra builder. I couldn't imagine life without her

There's a post for Cobra prints on the forum. One shows a beautiful blonde standing in front of a Cobra with the U.S. flag in the background. It's titled The American Dream. I'm lucky enough to be living it. I hope you can, too. Keep a positive attitude, there's someone out there for you.

Mike,I'm also sorry to here of your devorce,I too can relate to what you are going through. I was devorced back in '96 and was also married a little over 10 years. I was building up a Saleen at the time our relationship ended . My relationship was also very rocky for a long time ,my point here is I wen't ahead and finnished my car and my wife and I were better off getting devorced, we just were'nt right for each other. Working on the car also made it easier getting through it all, you know it kept me occupied . Since then I have met a wonderful woman that is now my wife and supports my interest and enjoys my companionship most of all, and I enjoy hers too. You only have one chance at life make the most of it,do what makes you happy!

Hi Mike,
Last year someone said to me "Congradulations?) You are not sure how the journey of divorce will go until you are finished in court. We share 2 little (4 year old boy & 7 year old girl) 50/50. It is a lot of work, but I wold never give up my time with them.
I wish you the best of luck and stay in touch with friends. I wouldn't do much with your FFR until the dust settles. It goes on the list of ASSETTS.......

ADULTS are NOT SUPPOSED to TELL other ADULTS what they can and cant do.... My neighbors wife said that first and there is a lot of truth in it.

MEN and WOMEN, husband and wife should work together as a team. When one tells the other what he or she cannot do, then a team no longer exists.

MIKE, I hope everything works out for the best.

THere are 4 stages of a Marriage, as told thru sex.

Stage one: House sex.... When you are first married, you have sex all over the house.

Stage two: Bedroom sex.... after the kids are born, you have to be more discreet.

Stage Three: Hall sex.... You meet each other in the Hall and mumble f*** YOU.

Stage Four: Court Sex..... You meet each other in the court room and try to Scr*w Each other one last time.

Sad, but true.

Thanks for all the replies. I will drop posting to this thread after this...I'm not one to bring a group down for personal reasons, I'm sure everyone has their share of pain.

We are having an pretty easy breakup I think...at least as best as you could expect. I care about her allot and I'm really only down because of this and the fact I just don't beleive in giving up on something like this, especially when you are still not exhausted. I feel she will oneday see what I see but it wont be for many years down the road and that is a shame. On the other hand the reality is that I've been sad for many years and this is my light at the end of a tunnel and the future looks great. I applied to get the home mortgage in my name today and that was odd...in reality I'm selling the house from us to me and giving both of us money from the profits of the sale...I get to buy myself cobra stuff with my profits off myself

Havn't worked on the cobra much recently, but will ramp up once wife is out of the house (couple of weeks). I'll be able to park the go-cart on one side and the body on a buck on the other.

Thanks again

Mike
