Ordered a 2020 Ram 1500. In the end I was only able to get two dealers willing to work over the internet. Most wanted me to schlep out to their dealerships and waste time finding out how good a price they may or may not be willing to give. Even being retired, I don't like wasting time.

It was strange some said I could only get 2019's others said only 2020's. Essentially the same truck. However the 2020 had an MSRP and invoice close to $2k lower. Since I am ordering I don't know what rebates may be offered when it finally shows up. I am assuming none but I figured I would rather start from a lower number.

Some dealers said I had to add other options even though the RAM web site let me build it my way. In the end the dealer I am working with built it the way I wanted. My opinion is that the best way to save money on a vehicle is, only buy the things you want.

Final number including dealer fees is slightly over "invoice", so I know the dealer still makes plenty of profit.

I will when it shows up. Probably 6 or 8 weeks. I would have financed if they would offer me a lower price since they get a commission on the loan but they said same price cash or finance. Plus I would have just turned right around a paid it off anyway. In NJ they aren't allowed to charge for prepaying a loan.

Picked it up 2 days ago. Got an additional $3500 in rebates. Could have gotten another $500 but didn't want to screw around with taking out Chrysler financing and then cancelling after the first payment.

So, far gas mileage is a dissappointement. It's supposed to get 15 city, 22 highway and 19 avg. I'm about 15 right now and that's half local and half highway. Let's hope it goes up a bit once the engine breaks in, but I have my doubts.

Love the power running board (and the wife loves it as well.) and the ability to set the curb height lower with the air suspension.

Active features are taking a bit to get used to. For instance today I pulled in someone's driveway that was a bit steep so the truck didn't want to let me back out. It kept seeing the road as an obstruction and slamming on the breaks. Also, I have to turn the auto start/stop off when pulling in the garage because as I try to creep in and stop to see if I have cleared the door, when it kicks back on the truck wants to lurch ahead. In normal traffic it works great even though it probably isn't saving me much gas especially since after a short while the engine turns back on so the ac can run.

Adaptive cruise is also probably a bit more aggressive than I normally drive. It breaks to keep the distance from the car ahead where I would normally coast a bit and then it accelerates a bit faster than I would because I know trafffic further ahead hasn't cleared so no sense in rushing. So, I will probably keep it turned on as a backup in case I get distracted but use cruise as I have always by tapping my break to coast and then hitting resume when I want to get back up to speed.

Also, my wife will probably never pull it in or out of the garage. Even though I have plenty of clearance it is beeping constantly and occasionally applying the brakes.

So many other features I haven't even figured out how to use yet.

Lane departure warnings.... Apparently I'm not nearly as good a driver as I've always thought myself to be. ;) I turned that one off after a day or two...

Mine's a 2013 Longhorn/Laramie with 120k miles & I average 18mpg around town (but not in peak traffic). Back&forth to the Lakehouse it runs 22mpg, 24mpg on the straight runs of hwy @ 55mph & on cruise.
Only issue I have is the damn in-dash fan/blower has developed a slight whine.
