Plug the bottom hose, Napa has the rubber plugs. The top hose goes into the 90 degree thermostat housing. If you are using a carb, then you can plug the hole that the hard water lines go into on the manifold with a plug from Napa.

I'll take a look tomorrow, but if I remember correctly there were two outlets at the rear of the engine for the heater and I ran a hose from one to the other, like they would be if there were plumbed to a heater, only shorter.

On my EFI car the original builder did just as GB4455 said.The hose was even bent in tight enough loop that it had kinked pretty much closed.Since this passage is closed when the heat is turned off anyway,you can plug or whatever w/o worryGood luck
