Heaters have been discussed in numerous threads,
but when looking at the Vintage Air units, which
is better in the FFR, the Firewall unit (50610-VUH) or the compact (50615-VUH)?

I have the compact unit. I have seperated the blower motor from the heater core and created a plenum that will transfer air from the blower to the core. This will allow me to run the 5" classic gauges layed out like the race cars had.

If you purchase a vintage air unit, buy it from the Hot Rod Shop. Great prices, quick service.

The 50610-VUH is the FFR unit. The 50615-VUH is slightly smaller. I have the 50615 and the only complaint is the air intake for the blower faces the middle of the car, towards the motor, which makes it difficult to run a hose for outside air. Or cockpit air for that matter. Agreed, buy it from the Hot Rod Shop and save about $100 over the FFR price

I got mine from TriState which I believe is the Vintage unit. If you go that route, I can send pics of how to fabricate the unit so you don't have to cut into the firewall..
Just let me know, it takes about an hour with basic tools.
