Summary: Owner Bruce Goldsmith takes Jay Leno through his Superformance Brock Coupe, which was customized and upgraded by Steve Wood at Panavia LLC in Silicon Valley, and tells the story of how Pete Brock and Bob Negstad worked with Superformance/Hi-Tech Automotive to re-develop the Brock Coupe into a "modern" version of the championship-winning Daytona Coupe.

I love how the guy is adamant that it is not a "replica" car, and repeatedly says his car was designed by Pete Brock himself. It is a Superformance, hello?

The Superformance Brock Coupe is a little more than a replica.

Pete Brock worked directly with Superformance to incorporate some of his design ideas -- improvements to his original design from the 1960s -- into the new car. As you can tell from looking at it, the Superformance coupe is not a direct "copy" of the original Daytona Coupe, but is more of a modern interpretation/adaptation.

Bob Negstad, the ex-Ford engineer from the original 427 Cobra, also worked with Brock and Superformance on the new design.

So that's the extra pedrigee the owner keeps talking about.

I understand what you are saying. That said, it does not look any better than what some on this forum have built. It is still a replica with a fiberglass body, built by a replica manufacturer, with mods made to it after picking it up from Superformance. It just sounds like a guy with a nice replica and an inferiority complex.
