A little help request. Under my FMS Cobra intake manifold are a 1/2", tapped hole, and a vacuum fitting. What the heck goes into the tapped hole? If I can plug it up, does anyone know what size brass plug I can buy? As for the vacuum fitting, I thought I'd run out a piece of hose and stick a small vacuum tree on it and run all the vacuum needs from that. Does that work?

thanks,

Dave

The 1/2" connection is for the PCV valve tube and the return from the valve covers. Any Mustang repair manual will show the connections.

Dave,

I thought that you were supercharging that monster? Won't you have to run the vacuum lines to the blower inlet instead of the manifold?

Hurry up and get that beast done! Fall and Winter (and Spring and Summer) are the best seasons to drive a Roadster in San Diego County!

Give me a call if you need a hand with anything!

Lee, thanks. I have this diagram, but your sending it and me printing out and marking it up has made things clearer.

I'm still not sure what that large port is under the manifold. I gave away my old stock one, and didn't pull the little vacuum tree/fitting, the one that looks like a rotisserie spear, off. I have the sinking feeling that I need to go buy one of those now. Is that what the larger port is for? The other port has a fitting in it, but it is a single.. I figured I could use it for all the vacuum needs and then just plug the other hole. Anybody running the FMS Cobra manifold?

Forrest... ummm... yeah? I don't know. The Mustang that the blower was running in didn't have any special routing for the vacuum, but what you are saying makes sense... now I'm really confused. As for help? ANYTIME!!!! I got in a whole day last weekend, and am getting in another today... holy shyskees, it looks like progress!
But my biggest slowdowns are unsurety about little stuff. This could easily be dealt with by having any of the local blue cobras outside my garage for a quick look see.

I'm pulling all my Haas tomorrow, so if you or Sergio or anyone in south O.C. or SD county wanna help w/the car... (or harvesting avos :D ,) feel free today or tomorrow. I'm hoping to get this thing done by the fall...
