I have sent the body off for paint!
I still have the turn signal problem to deal with.
What is this thing with an extra wire to the third prong of the FFR flasher?
This is the only problem I am facing right now and it's driving me nuts!
Please someone help!

Okay, if memory serves me correctly two of the prongs are connected to the original harnes plug (after you cut it in half) The other should go to the dash light.

What worked on my car is this: On a three prong flasher, connect the two outside prongs to the mounting location of the two prong flasher in the fuse panel with jumper wires, then connect the light to the center prong and ground the light. Locate the three prong flasher somewhere with a wire tie or tape. The center prong is energized when either of the two outside prongs are, it then sends the current to the light. I used a painless system and this arrangement worked for me. Wiring is definitely not my strong suit. Good luck, Bob.

Throw the three prong flasher in the trash can. Use the Mustang flasher. Get two diodes at Radio Shack. There was a thread on this very subject in Engineer Ed's section a couple of days ago.
