Yesterday I discovered a silly wiring mistake that I had made months ago and to my surprise the lighting system came alive. First real sign of life.

Running lights and hazards (front and rear), brake lights and reverse lights all work.

Question, what wires do I use on the donor harness to connect the turn signal switch?

I'm going use a three position switch for the turn signal.

Also, even though all the lighing system seem to work correctly, I have yet to get the headlight to work.

If I cannot get the headlights to work on the donor harness, can I simply wire as an independant circuit?

Any advice would be appreciated.

O/Y power into the switch. W/LB & O/LB for the right side. LG/W & LG/O for the left side. Be sure the t/s switch that you are going to use is rated for at least 4.5 amps; 6.5 amps if you are planning on having 2 turn signals on each side in the back. Are you using the donor hazard switch? If not, you will need large diodes or a 3PDT relay controlled by a SPST switch, to keep the hazard and turn circuits isolated from each other. I used the relay and SPST switch.

Do you have the mustang hi/low dimmer switch installed? No dimmer switch = no headlights. As I have suggested to other, invest in the Helm Electrical & Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual p/n FPS-12121-xx. -89 for 1989, -92 for 1992, etc. It is a lot easy and faster than waiting for what you hope will be correct answers on the forum.
