Has anyone made a trunk prop rod? My temporary PVC pipe is getting way old...I do not want the gas spring type. Just a simple rod that folds, but the trunk opening is not wide enough for a rod to fold up and down so maybe a telescoping type???

Any ideas or pics?

Thanks

I've thought about the same thing and am considering a prop latch mechanism out of a 70s era british car. Simple design, light weight and 2 point attachment. A little powder coating and it should look good too.

There's a British car show in early November locally and I'm going to check out all the trunk (oops, boot) latches then. You might look into those. Heck, the AC comes from Great Britian!

23 days till my kit arrives!

On my LAE I took a piece of 3/16" SS rod, bent each end 90 deg, threaded one end, the bottom, for a retaining nut, put nylon bushings in the fiberglas for bearing. It worked great.
