I did a search and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

The FFR 4-into-headers ($449), FFR 4-port side exhaust ($229), w/FFR ceramic coating ($375) comes out to $1053.

The Tri-State Exhaust is $859 uncoated. Let's say for arguments sake that ceramic coating these is also $375 for a total of $1234.

What to do?

A) Any issues/difficulties in installing the Tri-State system?
B) Since the FFR system is a multi-piece unit (i.e. separate header and side pipe assembly) make it easier to install/adjust?
C) Does one set fit better than the other?

As usual, your insights are appreciated.

If you're ordering with a kit, take the side exhaust out of the equation for the FFR option since it comes w/ the kit.

The older FFR 4x4 headers weren't great quality and the fit wasn't good either, but the latest ones I've seen are very nice on both accounts. Mike's headers are works of art! I've installed both, and Mike's are light years easier to install since they're individual tubes. Mike's are quieter than FFR's. Personally, I like LOUD, so I'm happy w/ my FFR headers. FFR uses a flanged connection, while Mikes are slip fit.

Hope some of this helped.

A good and very important point. Now the financial aspect looks very much in favor of the FFR route. Thanks Wade!

Wade is right, Mike's are very nice and they really aren't that much quiter you would like the tone that they put out. But give Mike a call he was running a special on his headers back a little while ago and may still be. Seems to me that they were like $750.

I have the latest series of ffr 4 into 4's and after I installed them on the car( which was a piece of cake, easier than the stockers), I looked long and hard to actually find something wrong with the fit. I looked, and looked...... they are about as good as I could ever want.

I can't see a reason not to use them.

Yeah, I'd bet the stock headers are the real weak link in that setup. I mean, just look at them. They exhibit the kind of workmanship that makes you grunt in a low, disapproving tone. There's probably been a thousand header dyno tests done on 87-93 Mustangs that you can find on the internet.
