A buddy of mine is just about finish with his build. Now the paper work, he bought a motor and trans from a wrecked mustang but failed to get a copy of the title of the car to verify the motor numbers. Now he has no proof where the motor came from. What kind of paper work does he need.

Every state is a little different...But , depending on the source of the wreck (salvage yard, private owner, etc), he will probably need to at least get a bill of sale showing the motor and tranny #, and an affidavit that shows that the seller had title to the car (with the VIN #)...Your friend really needs to do "due diligence" , to try to get a duplicate copy of the old title.
