I have a small timing issue. My engine is a rebuilt, mildly warmed over 302, slightly bored over. It was converted to a carb (Edelbrock 600) and has a mild cam (can't recall which one the builder said). I am not sure where the timing should be set. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jerry

Intitial should be around 12-14. Unless your running a vacum advance, then less. Total I wouldn't go over 34 degrees.

You want that 34 to come in by 3000 RPMs.

Barrow a dialable timing light to make it easier on yourself.

*edit, Geez I kan't spel.

Frank...thanks for the input. What is a dialable timing light? I need to buy one anyway...would it be pretty expensive?
