I am in need of the old irs calipers from the thunderbird. Just hoping someone may have a set sitting on the shelf since they are not used with the current FFR offerings.
Just let me know.
We have Hawk brake pads, brake rotors for all makes of cars or trucks. We have supplied the automotive industry with disc brake rotors, hawk performance brake pads, brake caliper sets, brake drums, drilled and slotted rotors and brake shoes for over 30 years.
I too have the old IRS design but upgrade everything to the 03/04 Mustang Cobra stuff out the gate. Shortly after upgraded to Wilwood brakes.
The Tbird parts are becoming hard to come buy so you could upgrade to the Cobra parts. A few vendors including DiskBrakesRUs and Forte’s Parts Connection have the conversion parts.
I’m working on a project that needs the thunderbird parts. Willwoods and the cobra setups won’t mesh with the final product.
I’m hoping to find some calipers someone isn’t planning on using. They get more shelf space and a little cash and I save some $.
I have Lincoln MKVIII calipers on a set of IRS hubs I was planning to convert to IRS around 15 years ago. Hubs were drilled to fit the 5 lug rotors (installed new and rusty), new bearings. I'd like to move all of this stuff as I've completed my 4 link development which is now a 5 link with Max Motorsports Panhard Bar. I won't ever be using this stuff. I can separate the calipers and brackets. They would need a rebuild with new seals, etc.
The cheapest I've found for T-bird caliper/brackets is from Summit. I finally pulled the trigger today on a set for $140 shipped. I considered using my Cobra calipers but ultimately the larger pistons from the T-Bird calipers just made more sense than for me to fab custom mounting brackets for my Cobra calipers.
