Soon we will all be meeting up in Ohio for a mutual cause. I hope to meet you all in person and have a beer or two with the forum members. But without FFR, we wouldn't have the chance to meet and hang out. I think a lot of us will be life long friends because of these silly little cars. I just wanted to take a minute and thanks the people at FFR who made this all possible. Thanks Mark, David, Mark, Jim, Karri, Tara, Joe, and so on... You guys are the best!

I read the nasty topic on the other site and hope that it all comes to an end soon.

Yes, they have issues. Yes, they are not perfect. Yes, they need to take care of customers better. But, in their defense, they have the best product or we wouldn't be here discussing things. They are a great bunch of people who truely care about making customers happy. Let's try to join together and send a clear message to Factory Five: A GREAT BIG THANK YOU!

Thanks FFR!

- Bill

I totally agree. FFR has provided me with the chance to own and a drive a car that most people only dream about. At the OPEN HOUSE I met FFR STAFF and Customers I am now glad to call friends. If it wasn't for FFR I would be reading books about Cobras [OOPS! Roadsters] and wishing I had one instead of driving one. I met both Dave & Mark [both of SMITH/WEBER]about 3 years ago and they are as down to earth today as they were that day three years ago.

Nice! This thread has the exact OPPOSITE tone of "the thread" from the other forum. Now this is a class act!

I've really enjoyed every interaction I have had with the Smiths and FFR. David called me at work once after I was "published" from a similar thread a couple of years ago.

Mark Weber took his Saturday to show me around the factory and let me sit in the coupe. At the time it was an unfinished prototype.

After it was all said and done, I voted my confidence with what counts, my hard earned cash.

I will buy a brown FFR t-shirt if someone makes it. :D

I never even go over to the other forum any more except to search for info. I never read any of the posts. That being said I had to go see what you guy's were talking about and in case I needed to be reminded why I don't go over there anymore that post reminded me big time.
I like it here. Nice, friendly, helpful people and none of that crap. Not that there are not good people on the other forum but a few bad apples........you know.

On the FFR plus side I'd just like to say I've been very happy with my kit. A lot of the troubles other people talked about have not shown up on mine. Almost all the aluminum fit well, the side pipes bolted right up and the body fits well. All in all I'm a happy camper.

Is there room for improvement? Yes. There always is but if my kit is a typical example then I think they've addressed a lot of the troubles.

Thank You FFR for making my dream come true.

I was totally surprised when I started following this forum. I had been looking at the other forum for quite a while, but I was overwhelmed with a feeling of general negativity and a few instances of the victim mentality.

I don't know how else to explain it, but I know this: I don't even have a donor or a kit yet, but I feel very at home with all of you here, and I can post questions without fear of starting a war, or worse yet, a lawsuit.

Some people just love to whine. Everyday, I hear whining.

The employees whine...
The clients whine...
Jerry Springer on TV...

At least I don't have to be exposed to it here.

Dave & Mark, thanks for the opportunity to do something different and fun, for a challenge to prove my capabilities.

To everyone on this forum, thanks for the support and information that will help me accomplish my goals.

And to Bill, our moderator, thanks for keeping the forum uncluttered with WHINING!

IMHO, "meathead" needs either more education with the english language or with conversational skills. Either that or a binky.

I'd like to thank FFR also. If it wasn't for them, this Average Joe Six-pack (ok, maybe a little below average and the six-packs didn't come along until the bodywork started) would never have a Cob....roadster. Sure there are some things that could be better, but hey, the "door ajar" light in my Ranger has been on for a year, you don't see me whining about Ford.

Anyways, I have my dream car, had a blast building it, and I have one company to thank...FFR. Oh, I better thank my wife too.

Funny, seems to me I remember some of the above screaming about B/O's when THEY were building their cars ;)

And yes, I'm still a ffr fan too, they are the only reason I'm driving my dream.
Yeap, we can complain and criticize. Everyone knows I've been known to speak my mind on the FFR BO problems. So please feel free to speak your mind. A while back, I posted some basic ground rules for posting vendor feedback. http://www.ffcars.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000842

One of the most important points of the FFCars Bill of Rights is:

Vendor Relations and Experiences
POLICY: Only the parties DIRECTLY involved in a vendor/customer interaction are welcome to post about the experience. Fellow members with useful suggestions based on solid facts, remedies, and solutions, rather than personal opinions and personal attitudes, may respond.
COMMENT: There is value in sharing experiences where the sharing brings a swift end to a real problem someone else is having. What is oh-so hateful and destroying in forums is when people with hate in their hearts and foul agenda's reply and it becomes useless gossip and innuendo, then it becomes childishness. I don't think it has to be too cumbersome to police. I think we are a mature group of people who want to keep our little serene (usually) post-haven a fun place to frequent.
Russ - You have earned the right to complain about your problems because you wrote a check to FFR. My post was just a way of saying, "Even with the problems, we still love your company. Thanks to everyone at FFR for all of your hard work. And, thanks for letting me build one of my dream cars."

The people who work at FFR are hard working people who seem to really care about their customers. I know the growing pains have been hard, but I'm sticking it out. I just wanted David Smith to know he’s got many fans who are willing to step up to the plate and say, “thank you”. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a simple pat on the back in a time when things are not going 100% perfect.

- Bill

PS - Thanks everyone for the kind words.
