Yea, I know, this was supposed to be my winter project but I just Finished pulling the Donor parts off the 89 Supercoupe IRS clip w/ ABS.

Kit will be here in 11 days.

What should I do with The ABS harness'?

Do I just tuck them away or is there something else I should do to seal the pumpkin?

Thanks in advance

CaptAl, as far as I can recall on my IRS pumpkin, the abs doohikeyyy just comes right off with one bolt holding it there. I really dont think that there is a complete hole all the way through the side of the pumpkin. At least I dont remember seeing one when I had the diff. out of it.

hope this helps, Erich

I also am pretty sure removing the ABS stuff is as simple as a bolt or two and does not require any additional work/sealing. Those gear-like things on the half shafts near the diff that the ABS used as rotational sensors we just sawed off.

My pumpkin already had the IRS junk removed. There is just a boss for the bolt on the side. I just wish I could figure out how to remove the toothed cog from the joint.

The ABS gears on the CV joint on my '90 Cougar donor were just pressed on. Sharp blow with a hammer and off they came.

I too thought those tooth cogs where ugly... They come off pretty easy, they are just press fitted on. Take a big hammer and an old pipe or similar object and tap them off working your way around the joint. I took mine off and they look great without them. Also the ABS sensors are just bolted on to the pumpkin and when removed only leave a threaded hole that does NOT go through, so no worries...
