the stock steering shaft gets chopped and the piece that FFR provides gets welded on.... does everything get welded or does it need to be trimed?

thanks

Luis, as I recall (from memory..no manual in front of me), toward the back of the manual there are drawings and templates. I think there's something on the steering shaft in that section.

I got mine in without welding. My buld is new, just got it 2 months ago and I did the steering shaft with no welding... It is just 3 elements, the lower and upper from the donor and the middle shaft from FFR that goes over the other two (tightly).

It depends, MK1 people were stuck with trying to butt-weld this extension. Don't do it. Call Breeze, or tristates and buy a new shaft, I think FFR is even selling them now. Your life depends on the steering staying in one piece. FFR started including a shaft with the MK2 kits is my understanding.

Luis,
We just beat this topic up. The new MK II kits come with an FFR supplied middle shaft. You no longer have to weld them. You will need the upper shaft from a non tilt wheel donor.
