I was running my belt today and was looking over the stock mustang belt tensioner. Has anyone ever taken 1 of these apart and flipped the spring inside. If this can be done then it would pull up instead of pushing down and you would not need to use the ffr pulley or bracket

This may not be what you are looking for but this is what I did with my stock tensioner.

I trimmed the stock ac bracket, made a spacer/mount for my coil and bought a pulley from my local autozone.

John it has been done before. Can't recall which one there was a mustang site I stumbled onto that had a step by step on reversing the stock tensioner. Also I have a trick flow bracket(no longer useing) that allows the tensioner to be moved to where the ps pump would normally mount, very similar to what Frank is showing.
