I have recently attached my steering wheel. The wheel is 90 degrees off when the wheels are straight. In other words, the top of the steering wheel points towards the drivers door. What did I do wrong? Is there anyone out there who has had this problem before. The front end has not been aligned yet. Will this possibly correct the problem?

I am assuming you are using the FFR supplied wheel. You can make adjustments to the steering wheel position using two adjustments. One is the position of the boss on the steering shaft, which allows you to move the wheel in 90 degree steps. The other is the 6 screws that hold the wheel to the boss, which allows you to move the wheel position in 120 degree steps. Using both of these together, you can move the wheel in 30 degree increments (in otherwords 12 different positions). Remember that where you position the wheel spokes affects your ability to see important gauges. Many people position their wheel spokes off center for this reason. I am positioning my spokes so that the normally bottom spoke is actually pointed direct at the top of the wheel, so I can see all the gauges.

Regards,
Bill

Thanks for the explanation BILL, I thought the wheel only bolted to the hub in one location.
Mine is off by 30 degrees so that might just work.

I'm pretty sure my wheel only bolts to the hub one way. The wheel is 90 degrees off. Luckily I have a splined steering shaft u-joint, so this winter I'll unbolt the pillow blocks and index the wheel.

Don't forget, once you get down to the nitty gritty the wheel can be fine tuned by adjusting the tie rod ends. When moving them equally the wheels stand still and the steering shaft will move left or right. bob
