I ordered my Cobra this morning and I think I got FFR #4000.

Yeah, right, I wish. (who knows, maybe I did).

But a long held dream is about to come true. Being 58, I’m in the smaller percentage of the demographics for starting a build, but most folks say I’ve never looked or acted my age. I saw my first Cobra in Norfolk, VA back in 1966 while in the Navy. He went by with the two back tires smoking. I had to have one!

The car will be shipped on Sept. 20 and Stewart says I should get it 2 or 3 days after that.

Since registering on this forum, I’ve spent a lot of time reading and copying stuff to make notes in the manual. I’m sure I’ll make a few mistakes along the way, but this list has certainly been helpful in developing a larger knowledge base for this project. It’s also one of the things that helped keep me motivated to find a way to make this happen. The energy, enthusiasm and friendliness here is addictive.

BTW, they’re showing bike races from Virginia International Raceway on Speed. I won a race (1 hour enduro) there in April in my vintage Austin Healey Sprite, which is for sale. Anyone know someone who’s looking for a really good vintage racecar? Details are on my website, who’s look will surely change soon (mucho Cobra content).

Geez, I'm excited. Guess I'll have to get a donor quick and clean out a space in the shop for the snake. The wife is totally on board with this venture so count us in the family. :D :D :D

With all due respect to the Bible. Welcome aboard Cobralust. Consider green, we'll talk....

Thanks Matt! A very clever use of verse.

As for green, I've had British cars before and some were green. (See my website for my last Spitfire). I'm pretty sure I'm going with the 2000SE Miata color, Mahogany Mica, which looks almost the same as the Merlot color they had in 95. If not that, the new 2002SE Miata Titanium is nice. The wife likes the Mahogany.
