Hi,
I'm using solid engine mounts, but I have a new standard trans mount. Are these compatible? I know you can't have a solid trans with a rubber mounted engine, but is it vice versa?

Craig - you'll get a bunch of different answers on this one. I run solid mounts on both the engine and trans. No problems in 21,000 miles, and I beat the crap out of it every time I take it out of the garage. Others say you MUST run a rubber trans mount if you run solid engine mounts.

The following text is from Moroso's website.....

"NOTE: Solid Transmission Mounts must be used in conjunction with Solid Motor Mounts to prevent breakage of engine block and transmission case due to torsional stress."

I'm running a Poly tranny mount and solid motor mounts. If something is going to break, I think the tranny tail shaft will. I'd rather scrap a tranny mount than a tranny tail shaft.

My .02 cents worth.

Haven't had a problem with either of them.

I think the rule is if you want to run a solid tranny mount, you MUST use solid motor mounts.
If you have solid motor mounts, you can use any tranny mount you want.

I have solid motor and tranny mounts. I like them just fine. There's a little vibration, but not much and nothing like what I was expecting based on other posts. People were making it sound like I'd be driving a rolling earthquake. It's FINE and I have about 600 miles on my car - on the road since June

Thanks guys! It looks like I'll be OK with the standard mount. That's one less part that I have to buy then!
