What would you do, move the pipes or adjust the body opening? Right now the pipe are 3.5" from the ground and too far back. Both body opening are in exactly the same place based on measurements from the ground. I can do fiberglass and have a mig welder so that's not an issue.

Here's what it looks like now

Thanks for your input.

Sand the close edge for clearance. Stand back and look at the car as a whole. You wont notice it.

Solved this issue on 4402 and OJ’s FFR. Here’s how…

Cut the two sections of the J pipe apart at the joint of the large and smaller OD sections.
Grind everything clean…
Reinstall the J pipes (parts)…
Install the rubber hanger for the side pipe (for horizontal clearance)…
Level, space and elevate pipe to desired position…
Tack-weld the J pipe sections…
Remove and finish weld the J pipes…

Ask Wade Chamberlain (who also went through the process)… he will also tell you that it is well worth the effort.
I wanted and now have a perfectly spaced, aligned and elevated set of pipes.

Good Luck…

I'd take a sabre saw and open up the aft edge of the cutout about 3/8". Follow the contour of the original edge.
