So, should I be greasing up my driveshaft yoke before putting it in the tranny? What kind of lube? Normal Synthetic bearing grease? Tranny fluid?

Anything special need to be done to the seal itself ?

I'm new to all this.

Yes you should. You may be able to push it in without greasing, but your opportunities to push it in again in the future will definately dwindle.

if you don't grease it, you might bend a rod. It is more maintenance to fix a bent rod then to take preemptive measures.

You might want to protect it first before putting it in. You don't know what the shaft could of picked up while it was laying around not getting used.

I just wanted to let everyone know I greased it up earlier and it slipped right in as everyone said it would

Michael- it had been capped for quite some time so I was pretty sure it was safe.

I must say it felt great to *finally* get that tranny filled up.

On a related note, I did have difficulties measuring my driveshaft angle. Any tips ?

That's the problem - I need some help or suggestions to properly manage the rear end.
