Have my 93 donor engine all ready to put in however it still has the smog pump attached.
1. Should I remove it?

2. how will the engine run without it ?

3. What do I do with the open ports on the rear of the heads where the metal tube connects both of the heads and returns to the smog pump?

1) Do you have to pass emissions? If not remove it.

2) The engine will run fine. If you run cats they will not be running optimally all the time, but no change to the engine.

3) Install plugs. Your friendly FFCars vendor will hook you up with these.

Oh and you can put in some resistors for the TAB/TAD solenoids to keep the EEC from setting codes for these. This is not necessary, but makes code reading a bit easier.

My brother did not install the smog pumps and he passed Washington state emissions. He is running the Breeze Automotive $16k EZE Pack (Mass Flo, etc.). I took mine off and my engine runs fine as well, although I didn't have emissions.
