I am converting my e-brake to a Fiero handle and I need to shorten the drivers side cable sheath.
How about some help here. Do you try to remove the end fitting or just cut a section out and butt it back together with a rubber hose clamped over the outside? Any other thoughts? Thanks In advance, as always.

Bob, in the FAQ's here there is a ton of info on the fiero hand brake. Also, do a search for hand brake, or Fiero, and you should also find a load of stuff too.

This may not be exactly what you are looking for but in case you need to crimp or swage a new end on, West Marine on County Line Road can do it for you.

Are you talking about modifying the 87-93 cable sheath?

Cut off the swage fitting. Pull off the round clip. Shorten the cover. Reinstall the round clip and crimp on a new swage end fitting.

I have Mark VII rear calipers and Mark VII cables. I need to shorten the drivers side significantly. The caliper end is a little unique. The front end is the same as any Ford cable. Can I get new swage front end fittings? Do you know of a source?
