Guys, FFR 3974K has now a new home.

Ray from Stewart arrived yesterday at 4:30 pm with her inside. We waited until my crew of helpers arrived, and gently took her down and into my garage.

I've been coming over here for knowledge for a good part of the last 9 months, and have sure learned a lot. Have felt the enthusiasm of the already owners, and thought that was making a good decision in buying this kit.

BOY WAS I RIGHT!!!

I'm utterly impressed with the quality. The frame is a work of art, steel cleanly cut and welded, aluminum neatly folded. The body is of excellent quality, thick and sturdier than I thought; parting lines do not seem a big deal at all.

The backorder list is not too big and no show stoppers for now: 3 pedal bolts, seats, door leather straps, painless harness, mirror, shifter rod, lower rad hose, e-brake cables and a couple of other minor stuff.

Here are some pics:

This is Ray from Stewart Transport.

Me, happy as can be.

Love that T-shirt, wife says it walks by itself.

Easy now...

Touchdown.

Congrats
Now the fun begins. It certainly looks warmer where you are located. It's all I can do to go to the shop and try to work

Looks great! Lucky you, my kit won't be delivered until the first week in Feb. I feel like a little kid in a candy store while I wait!

Congrats!!! Although I have to admit that your garage looks an awful lot cleaner than mine - warmer too - 8 degrees here last night.

Thanks Mary, that's my 18 month old baby girl, my pride and joy :D

Well, I'm gonna rub it to all of you up north (that's almost everybody in the US as I'm 170 miles north of Key West, southernmost point) The weather here is at a purrrrfect 75 to 80 degrees.

Dave, so you're the guy in Atlanta that held my delivery up, huh? :D

Bill, I have no idea. I'm pretty anal so probably will take me more than the average build, I'll probably put about 16 hours a week, will have somebody do the bodywork. Ray's a great guy, poor guy, he's been on the road since before Thanksgiving.

Mike, I'm doing a non-donor build, so my donor parts (which are all clean, rebuilt and painted by now) are just the pedal box, front SN95 spindles and the IRS pumpkin, knuckle and shafts.

Rebecca, no, I didn't tile the floor just for the car :D I did it a couple of years ago, my wife fell in love with these tiles for inside the house. We couldn't find them in Miami, so she made me go to Sarasota (Florida west coast) to get them. I didn't want to be short, so I bought a couple hundred extra sq.ft. The house was done, so I had enough to do the garage. Turned out great! :D

Luis, WAY TO GO! Hope to come down to see the project underway once my body's back from the paint shop. That white tile floor makes it look like the cleanroom in those Intel Pentium ads! Good luck man, you're all set.

Paul, YES it is slippery. Exactly the reason why it can be clean. Give and take I guess. I didn't have a choice on the tiles like I said, they were left overs.

John, Thanks!
You can come by anytime you want. As a matter of fact, my friend and I wanted to go see your car (perfect now that your body is off) to look at a couple of frame mods Doug did for you. I used to have your phones but lost them. Can you email them to me?

Great stuff Luis. You are now ready to go...
At least you're not trying to build a house in the middle of your FFR build.

You didn't even call Luis Lopez and myself to your unloading party. We can help you know.

Congrats. We need your phone number. Call Me- 954-383-9362.

Well Jay, I thought about calling you guys, but didn't want to bother you, I'll keep you guys for the really important stuff :D Wasn't really a party anyways, we had a coulpe of beers and everyone went their merry ways. I'll give ya a call.

Luis...congratulations from another Norcal FFR owner. Seeing your pictures sure brings me back to my unload. Unfortunately I was so excited I forgot to take any pictures until the off load was complete. You should see Stewarts new truck with the internal hoist and rails. It's a one man offload with that unit. Good luck and good buiding. Those of us that are through look for people like you to help or just take our own Cobra's apart for something to do. That is until the sun comes up and the road beckons.

Dave mentioned the one in the crate was going overseas somewhere, it may have been mine. That is if you received yours sometime around mid October. I picked my kit up in Hamburg, Germany on the 5th of November. Nobody else on Spangdahlem Air Base owns a Cobra!
