Just rebuilt the traction lock pack. I have read on this forum to use the alternating clutch method and the F 150 S spring - this was a quite a while back. Soooo, I did that. Now I read in a few other posts, not to as it has a negative effect on the handling. Before I change the S spring to stock, I would like some feedback from people who have used the alternating clutches with the F 150 spring.

Thanks for your help

Geoff

For drag racing, the F150 spring and alternating frictions/steels are great. But, the car is so light, it is WWWAAAYYY too much preload, lockup for street, autocross, road racing. I built mine the way you mentioned and just rebuilt with the regular spring and regular friction/steel pattern. The other way might be fine for a Mustang, but is BAD for our cars. Do a seaqrch in the Autocross area.

Dang it! That spring was a real chore to put in. Should I re-use the donor spring or buy a new one. Do I go back to the stock configuration of shim/friction steel, steel/friction/steel?

Thanks
